Rely on MusicBrainz for Wikipedia links

What is the problem you are facing?

Artist, album and track pages have a "search on Wikipedia" link, but a direct link to the relevant page could be retrieved from MusicBrainz instead.

What are the possible drawbacks or issues with the requested changes?

Not all artist/album/track on MusicBrainz has a Wikipedia link. In case there's no such link, it might still be useful to keep the existing "search on Wikipedia" link.

Context

  • Note: MusicBrainz entities can have both Wikipedia and Wikidata links. Wikidata links should be favored (see https://musicbrainz.org/doc/Link_Wikipedia_And_MusicBrainz).
  • Here's an example of an entity with a Wikidata link: https://musicbrainz.org/artist/277e21a9-2d64-452d-96c4-2d23a7af5891
