Listen-later channel
What is the problem you are facing?
I follow many podcasts, none of which I listen to every episode. Furthermore I'd like to listen to podcasts on multiple devices. I very rarely manage podcasts on my phone (or at least would prefer it that way).
It would be nice to have one RSS-feed to give my devices, with all the podcasts I'd like to hear. I imagine this working more or less like this:
- I follow my different (external or internal doesn't really matter in this case) podcasts in funkwhale.
- I browse through those podcasts in funkwhale and mark the episodes I'd like to listen to as "listen-later".
- This adds them to a special channel "listen-later" (maybe similar to the favorites-radio.
- I then add the RSS-Feed of this channel to eg. AntennaPod
- When I now feel like listening to a podcast I can go to that one feed and listen to one of them.
Bonus: Feed syncs read-status and maybe listened-to-status (but that would probably be a lot of work for both this project and eg antennapod).
What are the possible drawbacks or issues with the requested changes?
- Depending on how channels are implemented it could be difficult to implement this "virtual" channel.
- Maybe there could be copyright issues with resharing podcasts on a different feed, though this would probably also apply to all external channels.
