Revert "Merge branch '876-http-signature' into 'develop'"

This reverts merge request !1120 (merged)

The change is generally a good idea, but because of https://github.com/pyauth/requests-http-signature/issues/22 the change breaks federation with at least funkwhale < 1.1 and Mastodon and probably other services out there.
