Firefox auto-fills your remembered username in the search box if you open the user settings page
/label Type: Bug Status: Need triage
Steps to reproduce
- Have Firefox
- Set it to remember your Funkwhale login
- Go to
/settings
What happens?
Firefox pre-populates the current password in the change-password form (good), but it decides it needs to put the user name somewhere too, so it drops it in the search box (bad):
Even after you leave the settings page, it has decided that the search box is now a user name field, and pops up a list of saved logins box whenever you click on the search box, until you refresh the whole page. This can obscure Funkwhale's search results dropdown.
What is expected?
It should pre-fill the current password, but not put the user name anywhere visible to the user.
Context
Funkwhale version(s) affected: 0.21
I think the fix for this might just be a hidden "username" field on the settings form, before the current-password box, to distract the browser from the search field.
(When you leave the settings page, it also offers to remember your password again, with a blank username, but I'm not sure how to fix that. It might be trying to remember the Subsonic password, which it didn't auto-fill but was on the page already as a password input.)
