What is the problem you are facing?
Hi Funkwhale team! Have been enjoying your funkwhale platform on open.audio. Thought I would suggest a potential feature for visulalizations.
Current lack of native visualization support. It's a nice bonus feature that I've always enjoyed since winamp, and kodi.
What are the possible drawbacks or issues with the requested changes?
this version is webgl based so would only work on webgl enabled browsers
Jberg wrote the code that ported milkdrop to webGl, Below I've attached links to the butterchurnviz git which is open source via MIT license, and a couple sample implementations.
Butterchurn git repo: https://github.com/jberg/butterchurn Butterchurn Demo: https://butterchurnviz.com/ niteride.fm's implementation on their radio: https://nightride.fm/?station=nightride#Milkdrop and finally mstream music server. this implementation would probably be the most similar. with the play controls at the bottom and a button that activates the visuals. to test just play one of the tracks in the file explorer and then click the graphic in the middle of the bottom bar under 'welcome to mstream': https://demo.mstream.io/
